Hands-on Chief Operating Officer (COO) in Electronics Manufacturing Services
Role overview:
C-MAC is seeking an experienced, hands-on Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and continuously strengthen its global operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO holds end-to-end responsibility for manufacturing, supply chain, quality, logistics, and site leadership across all locations.
The COO plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, ensuring consistent execution, and supporting profitable growth while meeting the demanding quality, reliability, and delivery expectations of C-MAC’s customers.
This position is based in Belgium or Poland and requires regular travel to international manufacturing sites.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the global operations organization, with direct leadership of site managers in Belgium, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Canada
- Drive operational excellence across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and logistics, with a strong focus on standardization and performance
- Establish and ensure consistent execution of best-in-class processes, KPIs, and benchmarks across all sites
- Champion a strong customer focus by aligning operations with customer requirements for quality, delivery, flexibility, and cost
- Oversee capacity planning, footprint optimization, and resource allocation to support current operations and future growth
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory, quality, and safety standards relevant to high-reliability and harsh-environment EMS manufacturing
- Partner closely with Sales, Engineering, and Program Management to support business development, new product introduction (NPI), and lifecycle management
- Lead transformation initiatives to improve digitalization, efficiency, scalability, and operational resilience
- Build and reinforce a high-performance culture through clear accountability, talent development, succession planning, and leadership coaching
- Act as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to corporate strategy, investment decisions, and long-term value creation
Your Profile:
- Proven experience in a senior operations leadership role within electronics manufacturing, EMS, or high-reliability industrial manufacturing
- Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence, Lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple sites
- Strong understanding of customer-driven manufacturing environments with complex quality, regulatory, and delivery requirements
- Experience leading international, multi-site operations with culturally diverse teams
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to engage, challenge, and develop senior site leaders
- Data-driven mindset with solid financial, operational, and business acumen
- Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and hands-on levels
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with executive leadership, customers, and external partners
- You create trust around you. You foster a culture of safety, quality, and innovation
- Willingness to travel regularly to international manufacturing sites
- Based in Belgium (or Poland) or willing to relocate
